Eddie Pardue made his move to Charlotte, N.C., in 1993 after working for several years on late model stock cars at Langley Speedway in Virginia.

“Really racing is all that I’ve ever done,” said Pardue. “It seems like I’ve always been in racing. I started working at this little track where I’m from in Virginia. A couple of years out of high school I was helping a guy take care of his late model stock cars. That was my full time job and I was his only paid employee. I worked with him for three years, before moving to Charlotte.”

Upon moving to North Carolina he went to work for a fellow Virginian, Elton Sawyer, as a member of his Busch Series team. “I stayed with Elton Sawyer for five years and then I got on with Roush for a couple of years. I went back to the Busch Series with Chad Little for a couple years and then came back to Roush with the No. 6 team in 2003.”

Over the years Pardue gained important experience and vital knowledge about the sport, the cars, and how to run a race team. He has worked with several other drivers including, Dennis Setzer and Johnny Benson.

Pardue served as the No. 6 shock specialist in 2003 and then started pulling double duty in 2004 as both shock specialist and spotter for Mark Martin in the NEXTEL Cup Series. In 2006, he was promoted to crew chief for the No. 16 Ameriquest Busch Series entry driven by Greg Biffle. Together they earned one win, eight top-five and 15 top-10 finishes in 26 starts.

This year Pardue will continue his role as the crew chief for the No. 16 CitiFinancial Ford Fusion in the Busch Series with drivers Biffle, Colin Braun, Erik Darnell and Jamie McMurray.
